Readers don’t often think about what story type a book is when they pick it up. Often readers think more about book genre, who the author is, or even the characters when they choose a new book. But crafting stories means taking the time to determine genre, story type, and deciding on audience.

A genre is a particular type of literature, painting, music, film, or art form which people  classify based on characteristics. The items on this list attempt to define these characteristics.
