If you could design the perfect studio, where would it be and what would it look like?

Would you overlook the ocean on a faraway island like Ian Fleming?

Ian Fleming worked primarily as a journalist, but he would visit his Jamaican estate Goldeneye once a year, usually to write a Bond novel. His first Bond novel was “Casino Royale,” which he wrote in 1953. Fleming went on to write 13 Bond novels, almost one a year, from 1953 to 1964.

How about a room upstairs overlooking a forest. Throw some bean bags around and some other recreational equipment.

Conrad Aiken worked at a refectory table in the dining room, whereas Robert Graves wrote in a room furnished only with objects made by hand. Ernest Hemingway wrote standing up in Monterey I think; D. H. Lawrence under a tree.
